For this painting I decided to combine three elements: my love of gardening, delight in reading fantasy novels and the amazing and tender loving care that I have received from God. My life has been a struggle with illness and the manner in which people respond to those who are ill. I learned at an early age that people can be cruel, but that God never will be. When sick as a child I would read, fantasy books in particular. I found myself identifying with the fairies in these stories because although their bodies were frail, their spirits were very strong. The flowers are two fold: my love of gardening and God as the Great Gardener and supplier of life. My roots are grounded in Him and not on this earth. God has journeyed with me on my life path and has brought me healing over and over. Through all of it He has never forsaken me but built within me a strong spirit and always let me know that I am Cherished.

Closing

Through the art mentoring process I learned that I not only love sharing my finished artwork with others, but the process of creating it with Meahgan was an extraordinary adventure that I would love to experience again.
