Refuge by Sue Glass

Title: Refuge
Medium: acrylic on wood panel

Throughout my life I have faced struggles with my health. Growing up and even now I read fantasy novels and pray for strength during times of illness. Two of my favorite verses are Psalms 91:2 "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge"; and Isaiah 43:2-3a "Fear not: I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walk through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.  For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel..."

This painting represents the fortress and refuge that God is for me. A place of peace, strength & beauty. May you meet God here as I do.

I had the privilege to work with two amazing young women this spring. Angel Spooner and Chrissy Teeters are both very talented and hard working. We had fun conversations and lots of paint flying... literally at times. I wish you both amazing futures and just remember that God loves you and will meet you right where you are! Thank you for creating art with me!
